In Volkswagen’s new ad for today's Super Bowl (Feb. 3), a group of office workers are plagued by a terrible case of the Mondays. But a zen coworker with an exaggerated Caribbean accent turns their bad day around. "No worries, mon. Everything will be all right." he says, reminding them that better times are right around the corner. The tune featured in the clip is Jamaica native and reggae legend Jimmy Cliff’s ‘C’mon Get Happy,’ the theme song from the 1970s TV show ‘The Partridge Family.’

In a recent interview with CBSNews.com, Cliff expressed his thoughts on covering the song for the game-day commercial. “It's an icon type of song,” he said. “When I lived in the U.K. I saw the TV series, so that's how I became familiar with it."

He even appeared in a teaser video for the commercial, which can be viewed below. "[The shoot] was well-organized,” said Cliff. "We all had fun. I certainly did mingle with all the people who I didn't know before. We became quite acquainted. It was really great. I made good connections."

Cliff is best known for the reggae classic ‘The Harder They Come,’ along with acclaimed covers of Cat Stevens' ‘Wild World’ and Johnny Nash’s ‘I Can See Clearly Now.’ He recently teamed up with Rancid’s Tim Armstrong for his excellent 2012 album 'Rebirth.’
