Montreal-based prog rockers Wake Island have a brand-new video for their single 'Use It As a Weapon,' and Diffuser.fm is stoked to premiere it. The powerful clip (watch above) stars the group’s singer, Philippe M, and explores the physical and emotional aspects of human weakness.

The vid features a collection of disturbing scenes in which a broken man struggles to perform the most basic daily tasks. As he battles his inner demons, his friends help him get out of bed, brush his teeth, take a shower and eat breakfast.

“Amongst all of this turmoil are hints of a dying romantic relationship, adding to the character’s struggle and mirroring his internal conflict,” the band explains. “A mysterious woman haunts his thoughts and memories and takes on many faces and personas throughout the video; clearly, there is a blur here between reality and imagination and our protagonist will have to make sense of it before the end. As all the elements in his life come crashing together, he learns to use them as weapons to get his self together and ultimately be independent again.”

'Use It As a Weapon' is from Wake Island's sophomore LP, ‘It Takes Time to Be Uncomfortable,’ and you can grab a free download of the explosive track right here, courtesy of Diffuser.fm. It's also the lead track on 'Use It As A Weapon // Uncomfortable B-Sides,' a new EP due out Aug. 6.
