Beach House and their touring band visited Conan last night (Dec. 15) to perform Thank Your Lucky Stars closer “Somewhere Tonight.”

Just as the ballad feels like an appropriate final note for the band’s subdued second set of the year, it also made for the perfect nightcap before the late-night show closed its curtains on Tuesday. Even without the studio version’s warm crackle, frontwoman Victoria Legrand conjures youthful, moony hope at a school dance just before all the lights are about to come up and kill the fantasy. Check out their performance in the video at the top.

Thank Your Lucky Stars landed in October only a couple months after the band’s first album of 2015 Depression Cherry. Both were standout offerings that made our list of the best albums of the year.

Legrand and bandmate Alex Scally have three more U.S. tour dates before they head to Japan in January. All three shows will take place in San Francisco between Dec. 17 and 19. They’ll return to the states in February with stops scheduled through a two-night residency at Philly’s Union Transfer March 18-19. Get more information right here.
