Next month, Gossip will return with its fifth studio album, 'A Joyful Noise' -- but you don't have to wait until then to see the video for the album's leadoff single, 'Perfect World.'

A sepia-toned throwback to early '80s videos by artists like Eurythmics and Bonnie Tyler, the 'Perfect World' video boasts all manner of goth-inspired accouterments, from candles, hoods, and dramatic dancing to the flowing gown worn by singer Beth Ditto. But song itself is pure power ballad, driving behind surging synths and a soaring chorus. Eminently radio-friendly, it's the most confident bid for a hit that Gossip has released thus far.

'Perfect World' is slated to be the first track on 'A Joyful Noise,' which was produced by Xenomania founder Brian Higgins and is scheduled for a May 22 release. It arrives three years after the band's last album, the major European hit 'Music for Men.' Watch the video below and let us know what you think!
