Morrissey is currently on tour in support of his latest full-length, last year’s World Peace Is None of Your Business, and last week, he wrapped up his U.S. dates with a concert in Visalia, Calif., where he treated fans to a somewhat unexpected but very welcome cover of Waylon Jennings’ “Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way.”

The former Smiths leader delivered the Hank Williams tribute in singular Moz fashion, and you can now see for yourself in the fan-shot video up above. Then, compare it to Jennings’ original -- a cutting critique of ‘70s country excess -- at the bottom of the page.

Now that Morrissey has concluded the North American leg of his tour, he will venture toward home for a string of U.K. dates in September. See a complete list of stops at his Facebook.

Morrissey recently announced his latest non-music venture, revealing that he will release his debut novel, List of the Lost, later this month. The book is slated for a Sept. 24 arrival in the U.K. via Penguin Books, but it still has yet to receive a U.S. release. It follows his 2013 memoir, Autobiography.
