It was a little weird to see one of the world's biggest rock stars holding court on stage at Coachella 2012 smack dab in the middle of the day. But with Oasis no longer, Noel Gallagher was performing instead with his High Flying Birds project, which despite their frontman and namesake's pedigree, hasn't exactly attained 'Wonderwall' levels of success here in the States.

Perhaps that's why, unlike his brother and ex-Oasis bandmate Liam's new band, the High Flying Birds have had no reservations about performing Oasis tunes while on tour. Some may say Noel is falling back on former glories, but on the other hand he may as well give the fans what they want -- and what they want, of course, is Oasis tunes. So it came as no surprise that the Birds closed their Coachella 2012 set with the Oasis classic 'Don't Look Back In Anger' -- or that the crowd ate it up like starving construction workers at an all-you-can-eat Pizza Hut lunch buffet.

The rest of the band's set was fine, but lets be honest -- Oasis is what you want, so it's Oasis that you shall get.
