For their upcoming sophomore effort, Early Risers, New York City-based supergroup Soldiers of Fortune enlisted Stephen Malkmus for album track, "Campus Swagger." The band -- which features Oneida, Chavez and Interpol members -- played a free record release show at Max Fish on the Lower East Side last night (Nov. 4), and Malkmus made a special guest appearance to play the song with the indie-rock outfit. Watch above.

Soldiers of Fortune is comprised of Oneida’s Kid Millions, Barry London and Mike Bones, Matt Sweeney of Chavez and Zwan, Endless Boogie’s Jesper Eklow and Interpol’s Brad Truax. They’ll drop Early Risers -- a follow-up to 2011’s Ball Strenth -- tomorrow via Mexican Summer. The album also features collaborations with Cass McCombs, Dan Melchior and Ethan Miller. McCombs appears on the perviously released “Old Roman Wall.”

Ahead of its arrival, you can stream Early Risers in full over at Brooklyn Vegan. You can order the LP on CD or vinyl at the Mexican Summer website.
