The last thing the ladies in Wild Flag need to do is prove their indie rock bona fides, but if you're a modern post-punk band looking to show a crowd that you know where the music comes from, you could do a whole lot worse than dredging up a semi-obscure Fugazi song for your set list -- and that's just what they did Saturday night (March 31) in Boston.

Still on the road promoting their 2010 self-titled debut, Wild Flag stopped in Boston as part of a busy string of spring dates that will see them playing the Indie-O Fest and Coachella later this month. They've been opening up the set list on their current jaunt, incorporating new material as well as a handful of covers that range from the unexpected ('Do You Wanna Dance?') to the intriguing (the Rolling Stones' 'Beast of Burden').

'Margin Walker' definitely falls into the latter camp. Originally released on a vinyl EP in 1989, it's a blistering rocker that offers a perfect opportunity for Wild Flag to tap into their aggressive side -- in fact, the band's Boston rendition, clocking in at just under a minute, was nearly 30 seconds longer than the original.
