Tomorrow (Aug. 28), Dan Bejar will release Poison Season, his latest album as Destroyer. Just ahead of its arrival, the New Pornographers co-leader has debuted a music video for album single, “Times Square.” Watch above.

The Shayne Ehman-directed clip features close-ups of Bejar singing, as stop-motion animations of woodland creatures get high in the forest. Ehman discussed the making of the new video in a press release:

We ended up just wandering around New York til 3am and the city seemed completely dead. We could have been anywhere, really. I needed to get outside and shoot in natural light in order to serve as a sort of conduit for those 'forces of nature in love...' which seem to rule the song. I let the sun do its thing and let the earth do it's thing and watched time unfold. I watched the clouds unfold and unpack and packup. I was at their mercy, completely.

Poison Season follows Destroyer’s 2011 effort, Kaputt. In addition to "Times Square," Bejar has also shared “Girl in a Sling” and “Dream Lover.”

Destroyer’s tour kicks off on Sept. 18 in Portland. Then, the Canadian outfit has dates on the books through the end of November. Check out an itinerary over at Merge.
