No one needs an excuse to cover the Misfits -- it's always a good idea -- but Wax Fang picked a fine time to cut a version of 'Halloween.' Rather than crank the guitars and try to match the beefy, schlocky brawn of the original, the dudes from Louisville turn down the volume, transforming Danzig's disturbing little ditty into an even creepier psych-folk scorcher.

'Halloween' follows a string of 2013 singles and prefaces 'The Astronaut,' Wax Fang's third album and first since 2007's 'La La Land.' The new record is due out sometime next year -- click here to keep up with the band's comings, goings and seasonally appropriate horror-punk remakes.
