Weezer‘s 11th album, Pacific Daydream, will arrive Oct. 27. They announced they release date today, and also delivered the video for the second single, “Mexican Fender,” a nostalgic look-back at a romance that started began in a guitar store. You can watch it above.

On their website, they reveal the news with a quote from Zhuangzi, a collection of Daoist stories from 3rd century B.C. Chinese philosophper Chuang Chou. “Once upon a time, I, Chuang Chou, dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Chou. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man.”

You can pre-order Pacific Daydream on both CD and vinyl at their web store, and they have several merchandise bundles available. In addition to buying it on its own or with an enamel keychain, a “Midnight” package combines both the CD and vinyl with the keychain and a t-shirt. The “Wondrous” package adds a hat and duffle bag, and the “Universe” package adds an embroidered bomber jacket and a “Westside Weirdos” pennant. All vinyl is available in limited-edition transparent pink (1,000 copies pressed) and white with black splatter (2,000 copies pressed) as well as the traditional black.

Three weeks ago, the band revealed the video for “Feels Like Summer,” in which they paid homage to Guns N’ Roses‘ famous “Paradise City” clip, with Rivers Cuomo dressed up like Axl Rose, and guitarist Brian Bell wearing Slash‘s top hat. Both “Feels Like Summer” and “Mexican Fender” can be streamed of purchased for download from various sites using this link. At the beginning of September, they will commence a month-long series of dates starting with Bumbershoot in Seattle.
