Multi-instrumentalist and Arcade Fire member Will Butler recently announced that he will be releasing his debut solo effort, 'Policy.' Today (Nov. 24), Butler unleashed a very random, trippy, low-budget trailer for the upcoming album, which you can watch below.

In the trailer, Butler does a weird dance in his living room, followed by some colorful prisms and imagery -- and of course, some dancing cow people.  For his first solo album, the singer-songwriter claims influences that are as wide as possible, from the Breeders to Ghostface Killah. The only musical assistance Butler had on the album, which was recorded in just two weeks, was from Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara, who only laid down the drum tracks. Probably the coolest thing about the record is that it was recorded in Jimi Hendrix's living room, now dubbed Electric Lady Studios, in New York.

'Policy' is due out Mar. 10 in the U.S. via Merge Records and Mar. 16 in Europe. If you tune into Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 later today, you'll hear a single from the album titled 'Take My Side' which is set to premiere during the show.
