Gravel-voiced banjo aficionado William Elliott Whitmore has a new album coming out March 31 called Radium Death, and he was nice enough to give us fans a preview.

"Healing to Do" is a raucous, upbeat strummer of a tune, complete with gnarly guitar and plenty of thick drawbar organ. Check it out below:

"Healing To Do" is a bit of a change for Whitmore, who usually opts for more sparse arrangements; most of his songs are simply him crooning over a banjo or acoustic guitar. Whitmore wanted to do something different on Radium Death, though.

"I purposefully went into it wanting to make a little bit of a departure, sonically, using an electric guitar a little bit more and adding more instrumentation, more full-band type stuff," Whitmore says about the new disc.

Along with the announcement of the record and the release of "Healing to Do," Whitmore released the dates for his next tour, which kicks off in Iowa City on March 28 with a record release show.
