This singer grew up in San Diego, Calif., relocating to Seattle after joining a band there in 1990 that would go on to become one of the biggest alternative rock bands of all time -- playing the role in grunge music of the Beatles to Nirvana's the Rolling Stones.

He's also issued two solo albums; the latest, which dropped last year, features him performing the ukulele.
