Alanis Morissette Launches Interview Podcast ‘Conversation With Alanis Morissette’
After launching her career on angsty breakup anthems in the '90s, Alanis Morissette has since branched out into acting, too. Now, she’s added podcast host to her ever-expanding résumé.
Conversation With Alanis Morissette launched with its inaugural episode today (Oct. 12), which featured Conscious Uncoupling author Katherine Woodward Thomas as her very first guest. According to a press release, future episodes will capture Morissette's sitdowns with doctors, educators and therapists discussing everything from psychology and art to relationships and health.
“I have been having these wildly engaging conversations with my mentors and teachers and colleagues privately, quietly and on-goingly in cafes, my kitchen, schools, tour buses, airplanes and the like for so many years,” Morissette said in a statement. “For them to be made public now in the form of this podcast is a dream come true for me. A stepping out. And a coming home.”
“It feels like a true integration of all the parts of life I have been passionately studying and researching through direct experience and schooling,” she continued. “The rock star, teacher, philosopher, student and scholar are finally blending into one.”
You can listen to the first episode of Conversation with Alanis Morissette and subscribe to the podcast over at iTunes. Morissette’s next guests will be Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, the husband-and-wife authors behind a series of relationship self-help books.
Morissette will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill with a reissue featuring demos, acoustic and live cuts. It's due out later this month on Oct. 30.
