Chad Childers has been a music lover since his parents dragged him along to an Aerosmith/Bachman Turner Overdrive show as an infant. His love of music turned into a career in the mid-90s when he left a job in the Midwest as a librarian and moved to California to intern for Westwood One Radio. That led to work researching for Casey Kasem's countdown shows, writing and producing the alternative and active rock-related prep services SpinFax, The Fax, and Rip, Read and Rock, producing and writing for Westwood One's concert series as well as doing interviews across all music and entertainment formats. Since joining Loudwire in 2012, he's served as senior editor and is one of the writers for the site, while also interviewing bands and covering and photographing music festivals and concerts. He's also written for Ultimate Classic Rock, Pop Crush, Screen Crush and The FW. Twitter: @ChadChilLW Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chad.childers

Best Animated Album Covers
Have you ever wished your favorite album covers would come to life? Thanks to some talented animated GIF makers, that's something that's coming closer to happening.
R.E.M. – Best Animated Album Covers
'Collapse Into Now'
Of all the album cover GIFs we've compiled, R.E.M.'s 'Collapse Into Now' was probably begging for an animated makeover the least. In fact, R.E.M. themselves seemed resigned to not really putting forth much effort on anything after recording the disc.
Modest Mouse – Best Animated Album Covers
'We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank'
Modest Mouse may have titled their 2007 album 'We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank,' but by placing a balloon in the artwork, it's possible that not everyone perished in the boating incident described in the title -- even if it is carrying an anchor.
Sonic Youth – Best Animated Album Covers
'Daydream Nation'
Sonic Youth's 1988 release 'Daydream Nation' features a solitary candle on the cover. It comes from a photo done by Gerhard Richter titled 'Kerze' (that's candle, for those of you who need a translation).
The Cure – Best Animated Album Covers
'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me'
In 1987, the mainstream finally started warming up to the Cure as the single 'Just Like Heaven' enjoyed some commercial success. The track came from the album 'Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me,' which features an up-close photo of a pair of lipstick-covered lips.
Morrissey – Best Animated Album Covers
'The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get'
This animated cover is for the Morrissey single 'The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get.' Somehow we doubt that the singer was lamenting the itch on the side of his nose, but it's fun to see how the maker of this animated GIF took the artwork for the single release and had a little fun with it.
Florence + the Machine – Best Animated Album Covers
'Lungs'
Everyone always talks about what a great voice Florence Welch has, and it all starts with those pipes that fans first came to love on the 'Lungs' album.
Radiohead – Best Animated Album Covers
'Hail to the Thief'
Radiohead's Thom Yorke says many of the words that appear in the 'Hail to the Thief' artwork were ones that stood out to him when listening to political discussions about the aftermath of 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan.
