Severe weather forced the cancelation of the remainder of the Mountain Jam festival today (Sunday), preventing the Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile from taking the stage for the festival's final evening.

Festival organizers announced the cancelation on Twitter:

"We are devastated to make this decision, but the safety of our fans, artists and crew always comes first," read a statement shared by the festival. "All customers who purchased either a Sunday or multi-day ticket directly through the Mountain Jam website will receive a partial refund."

Organizers advised attendees to seek shelter as the weather advanced to the festival grounds and to wait to pack up their tents until the storm passed.

A few Mountain Jam acts were able to take the stage earlier in the day. Brooklyn psych rockers Quilt played a set to a wet but rapt audience, right before Michael Franti and Spearhead defied the light rain with a bright, feel-good set. Blues rockers the London Souls finished their Valley Stage set just before the cancelation was announced.

Train covering Led Zeppelin II, Wilco, and Beck headlined the festival's Thursday, Friday, and Saturday rosters.

Update: The Avett Brothers played a special indoor show for waterlogged fans after their headlining set was canceled.
