Two months after organizers announced that the Bamboozle festival would not be returning to Asbury Park, N.J., next year, the entire 2013 festival has been cancelled. "We are sad to announce we will miss all of you in 2013 but keep your eyes peeled for 2014 info," reads a Facebook post from the event's organizers. "Have a warm and safe holiday season!" No reason for the decision was given.

The Bamboozle began as the Great Bamboozle in 2003. It was held in Asbury Park, N.J., before moving in 2006 to the parking lot of Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J. There it remained until moving back to Asbury last year with an eclectic bill featuring Foo Fighters (pictured above), Skrillex, My Chemical Romance and Bon Jovi as headliners.

In October, organizers announced an alternate site to Asbury Park was being sought for Bamboozle 2013. “We’re always trying to provide Bamboozle fans with the most spectacular musical experience possible," a spokesman told The Star-Ledger. "We haven’t made final plans for Bamboozle ’13, but will let everyone know as soon as they’re finalized.”

With Bamboozle plans now finalized for 2013 -- that is, no plans -- summer 2014 seems a long, long way away. But fans will have to wait at least until then for the return of the festival, which would have kicked off its second decade if held in 2013.
