This singer looks unassuming in her old high school yearbook photo, but she has gone on to become one of the most dynamic performers in popular music. She got her start back in the mid '80s and has achieved global success both as a solo artist and with her longtime bandmates.

Can you name this handsome devil just by looking at his yearbook photo? After graduating from high school in Hollywood, Calif., this singer was asked to fill an opening slot on a concert bill. Acting as singer, he recruited a trio of friends to form Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem, later dropping the name but keeping the band.

This singer grew up in San Diego, Calif., relocating to Seattle after joining a band there in 1990 that would go on to become one of the biggest alternative rock bands of all time -- playing the role in grunge music of the Beatles to Nirvana's the Rolling Stones.
