Over the last eight years, the Artists Project Earth charity has dedicated itself to raising awareness and funds for climate change and disaster relief projects, using a series of compilation CDs to aid them in their goal -- and their latest collection features music from a variety of top-selling artists, including Coldplay, Mumford and Sons and R.E.M.

Issued in conjunction with PledgeMusic, 'Rhythms Del Mundo: Africa' collects 14 tracks that bring together African and Western artists, giving fans exclusive African mixes of hit tracks like 'Losing My Religion,' 'Viva la Vida,' and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' 'Under the Bridge.'

As reported by Stereoboard, Artists Project Earth traveled to Africa for the project, working with a list of African musicians that includes Toumani Diabaté, Bassekou Kouyate, Ali Farka Touré Band, and Rokia Traoré.

The album is available for pre-order now at PledgeMusic, with a variety of 'Pledge Plus' options for buyers who choose to contribute more than the base download purchase price, including posters, CD copies, vinyl, participation in an African drumming workshop, or even an executive producer credit in the liner notes.
