As you may recall, Tenacious D suffered something of a career setback six years ago when their debut film, 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny,' tanked at the box office, thus sending the band into a prolonged hiatus. But the D, a.k.a. Jack Black and Kyle Gass, are back -- and as they reveal in a new teaser video for their upcoming album 'Rize of the Fenix,' the reunion started with Val Kilmer dying for their sins.

The video, presented as a clip from an 'Access Hollywood'-type series hosted by Maria Menounos (Gesundheit!), looks back at the last six years, starting with the way 'Pick' bombing in theaters helped drive Gass insane -- and how, while his former partner was spiraling into madness, Black devoted himself to becoming the biggest star in the world.

All's well that ends well, however, and the D found its way back together when an unkempt Gass stumbled onto Black's posh seaside balcony and tried to shoot him, only to be foiled by the selfless sacrifice of Val Kilmer. What followed was truly epic -- a record-breaking hug, a 'Rocky'-style training montage, cameos from Foo Fighter Dave Grohl and Josh Groban...well, you'll just have to see for yourself. And remember, 'Rize of the Fenix' drops May 15.
