When we last heard from the Dum Dum Girls, the project led by Kristin Gundred (aka Dee Dee) had seemingly completed its evolution from lo-fi pop-punk act to purveyors of blissed-out dream pop. Their latest single, 'Lord Knows,' acted as Exhibit A. Now they're back with a Christin Turner-directed video for the tune, and the clip has all the hallmarks of a Turner classic. Like her numerous works for Crocodiles, Tamaryn and, of course, the Dum Dum Girls, it's slightly blurry, mostly trippy and totally awesome.

All four gorgeous Girls girls appear as Pagan-like witches, with fire, feathers and a buff, shirtless dude all converging into what could loosely be described as some sort of plot. We previously mentioned that the backing guitar riff was lifted from ‘Crimson and Clover’ by Tommy James and the Shondells, but this time around, it sounds more like 'Sweet Jane' by the Velvet Underground. Either way, despite any similarity to those classics, 'Lord Knows' totally sounds like a modern classic all its own.
