Elvis Costello was recruited by Squeeze to provide backing vocals on the British New Wave rockers' tune 'Tempted,' the second single off their 1981 album 'East Side Story.' Costello's participation wasn't widely known about at the time, but his role a producer on the disc was. Squeeze keyboardist Paul Carrack handled lead vocals on 'Tempted,' but in the second verse, guitarist/songwriter Glenn Tilbrook and Costello step in to trade a few lines. 'Tempted' has since become ubiquitous in pop culture, appearing in countless commercials, video games and more.
