Green Day fans have more than just a new album to look forward to. Shortly after the group's upcoming 12th studio LP, Revolution Radio, arrives in stores on Oct. 7, they're planning on returning to the road for a series of U.S. and Canadian club shows.

As previously reported, Revolution Radio has already been preceded by a leadoff single, "Bang Bang," which frontman Billie Joe Armstrong says is inspired by "the culture of mass shooting that happens in America mixed with narcissistic social media" — fitting for an album he's described as "a collection of songs about the chaotic state of America in 2016."

"This time I just wanted to feel the freedom of just depending on ourselves and getting in a room. There’s no in-between person and we’re forced to sort of be in there with each other," Armstrong explained of the sessions, which found the band acting as its own producer. "So it was really interesting to kind of see how everybody interfaced with each other. ... It’s a great time to be able to go on tour, for a record to feel like this."

Green Day's U.S. and Canadian club dates are scheduled to begin Sept. 20 in St. Louis and continue through late October, with the final date booked as a homecoming show in Berkeley, Calif. for Oct. 20. Tickets go on sale for fan club members on Sept. 7, with general sales set to start on Sept. 9. The group will follow these shows with a run of European dates early next year; for a full list of concerts and detailed ticketing information, visit Green Day's official site.
