Green Day Share New Holiday Tune 'Xmas Time of the Year'

Green Day just put their own pop-punk stamp on the Christmas canon. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are streaming their new original "Xmas Time of the Year." Listen to it above.

Meanwhile, the trio have also thrown their hats into another new venture: organic coffee. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt are launching Oakland Coffee Works that will reportedly be the first company to use mass-produced compostable bags and pods that can be composted to create fertile humus.

“I’ve been drinking coffee all these years, I looked at the coffee bags and realised they’re all landfill,” said Dirnt. “It was astonishing to me. I hope that the big companies out there step up to the plate too.”

While the bags are ready for sale, the pods are expected to be available from late January.
