Morrissey wrote these lyrics:

"Well, I wonder / Do you hear me? / When you sleep, I hoarsely cry."

They come from the Smiths song 'Well I Wonder,' which can be found on their second album, 1985's 'Meat Is Murder.' You'd think with an attitude like that, Morrissey wouldn't be a very fun guy to hang around with. And you'd probably be right, but at least you'd be sleeping. He's getting ready to start a U.S. tour, which is why he stopped to sing for Letterman the other night.
