Last night (Sept. 18), the Americana Honor and Awards honored some of the best performers around today. Highlights included an appearance by Led Zeppelin crooner Robert Plant, a lifetime achievement award for Loretta Lynn, and a host of great musical performances.

Former Drive-By Truckers member Jason Isbell scored three of the biggest awards of the evening. He won Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for 'Cover Me Up,' and Album of the Year for 'Southeastern.' He and his wife, musician Amanda Shires, also performed 'Cover Me Up' together at the ceremony.

Jackson Browne received a Spirit of America Award for singing about controversial topics during his heyday. Sturgill Simpson won for Emerging Artist of the Year and the Milk Carton Kids won Best Group or Duo of the Year.

And in case you haven't yet been privy to Isbell's songwriting and performance skills -- or even if you have -- treat yourself to the video below of him and his wife performing 'Cover Me Up' on American Public Media's show, 'Wits':
