Liam Gallagher Thinks He Knows What’s Stopping an Oasis Reunion
Oasis fans will never stop clamoring for a reunion as long as combative co-founders Liam and Noel Gallagher insist on creating apart from each other. But in a new interview, Liam claims he knows what's keeping the frequently feuding brothers from getting back together — and it isn't either one of them.
In fact, during a recently published conversation with Q (via NME), Liam alleged that his brother is actually "desperate to get Oasis back," although he also apparently "knows he's crossed that bridge." There could be any number of planks in that bridge, but according to Liam, the main obstacle at this point is a marital one.
"He’s not allowed to," added Gallagher. "His missus won’t let him now."
Despite the alleged misgivings of Noel's wife, Liam insisted Noel really would love to get Oasis back together — if only because, in Liam's eyes, he craves the kind of attention that would go along with a reunion. "I know for a fact, deep down, he wants to be playing stadiums," Liam continued. "You can only play stadiums when I’m there."
As husbands around the world are aware, wives change their minds all the time — but even if Noel's wife drops her alleged qualms, Liam suspects Noel might lack the gumption for a reunion after all. "I don’t think our kid’s got it in him anymore, anyway," he shrugged. "It seems to me like he’s playing to the snobs and the world and the toffs."
