It really could be either of them. Both the 53-year-old modern-rock icon and the 23-year-old pop star write love songs that you probably wouldn't want played at your wedding. And they both like writing songs about themselves, especially how hard it is to find true love, since nobody will ever know them as well as they know themselves ... or something like that.
