New Pornographers’ A.C. Newman Announces 2012 Solo Album, Tour

Two years after guiding the band through its fifth album, 'Together,' New Pornographers founder A.C. Newman has announced plans to release his third solo LP, due in fall 2012.

The title and specific release date are staying secret for now, but Newman isn't keeping everything to himself -- he's also announced a run of fall tour dates, kicking off in late October and extending through mid-November.

The new record resumes the solo career Newman has sporadically pursued since 2004, when he issued his debut 'The Slow Wonder,' following it five years later with 'Get Guilty.' While waiting for more specific information about the new record, New Pornographers fans can look forward to hearing the band cover 'Think About Me' on the upcoming Fleetwood Mac tribute album 'Just Tell Me That You Want Me,' due Aug. 14.
