‘Old School’ is ‘Animal House' for the modern day. With an iron-strong cast featuring Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Jeremy Piven and Luke Wilson, it's become a must-watch comedy for dudes and chicks the world over. Mainly, that's because it's hilariously awesome and filled to the brim with toilet humor. And then, of course, there’s Blue. (Say it with us: "You’re my boy, Blue!") Plus, ‘Old School’ also has an amazing soundtrack. It’s a little all over the place, but we’re cool with it, if you are. Here are the five essential cuts.

    ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’

    Duran Duran

Duran Duran are one of those ‘80s bands that you just have to give a pass to. No matter how cheesy some of their songs are, you just can’t help but start moving your feet when you hear them. On songs like ‘Hungry Like the Wolf,' you get sucked into the beat and are forced to go absolutely nuts. It devours you.

    ‘Fun Night’

    Andrew W.K.

From Andrew W.K.’s breakout 2001 album ‘I Get Wet,’ ‘Fun Night’ can only be described as a raucous, raunchy, keg-stand of a song that should be sung at the top of one’s lungs. We found a great live recording of AWK doing the song -- in just that manner. Can you say college party anthem? Can you slur it?

    ‘The Sound of Silence’

    Simon & Garfunkel

One of the darkest songs in Simon & Garfunkel’s seemingly endless catalog of folk-pop perfection, ‘The Sound of Silence’ is one of songwriter Paul Simon’s most enduring classics. And it’s used perfectly in ‘Old School,’ after Frank the Tank shoots himself in the neck with a tranquilizer gun and falls lazily into the pool. Yeah, you know that scene like the back of your hand.

‘To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)’

    Ryan Adams

Oh, Ryan Adams. How you regale us with your depressing, drug-related anthems! From 2000’s solo debut, ‘Heartbreaker,’ the song might be full-on Bob Dylan highway robbery, but it’s so much fun to blast while you wash down handfuls of multicolored pills with Jack Daniels to. Or you can just rock out while you’re watching the movie. After all, it's the perfect party anthem for one of the greatest college party flicks of our generation.

    ‘Louie Louie’

    Black Flag

This sloppy and sweet version of the Richard Berry toga-party staple ‘Louie Louie’ is performed by pre-Henry Rollins Black Flag, featuring Dez Cadena on lead vocals. (Cadena has toured with the retooled, Danzig-less Misfits). You have to give Cadena some credit, because he takes the classic and runs with it, adding his own lyrics and singing it like he’s had a few too many.
