Pearl Jam already had their breakthrough moment by the time their guest spot in the 1992 romantic comedy 'Singles' hit theaters. The Cameron Crowe-directed movie -- starring Bridget Fonda, Kyra Sedgwick and Matt Dillon -- turns the spotlight on Seattle during the birth of grunge in the early '90s. Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard play Dillon's bandmates in the fictional up-and-coming group Citizen Dick.

The 'Singles' soundtrack featured some of the best bands of the burgeoning alt-rock scene, with artists like Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Screaming Tree's Mark Lanegan and Soundgarden (who also appear in the movie) contributing tracks.
