-- The 25th anniversary of Peter Gabriel's 'So' will be celebrated in October with a five-disc box set that will feature a completely remastered version of the classic album, plus the two-CD, one-DVD ‘Live in Athens’ set from 1987 and the ‘So’ DNA CD, which explores the making-of the album, which is Gabriel's all-time best seller. -- Veteran Southern California punk band Red Kross have just released 'Researching the Blues,' their first new album in 15 long years. -- Jack White has mapped out a handful of new fall North American tour dates that will run through Oct. 13 in Austin, Texas. For a taste of his current live show, catch this awesome footage of White and his backing band rocking a forest outside of the recent Outside Lands festival. [Pollstar]

-- Eddie Vedder guested on a handful of tracks featured on Cat Power's 1993 album, 'You Are Free,' so perhaps it's not surprising that the Pearl Jam singer recently covered the disc's 'Good Woman' during a solo show in Amsterdam. In fact, Vedder provided male backing vocals on the original, but here he handles the lead.  [Prefix]
