One angelic Canadian and a crew of Southern ruffians makes for a perfect combination.

As we've written, Feist and Mastodon have gotten together for some cover song symmetry. Mastodon are adding weight to the featherlight 'A Commotion,' and Leslie's flicking some loveliness into 'Black Tongue.' As she said in an interview with Rolling Stone, the song "is speaking in my kind of elemental language -- about diamond and earth and sky. It’s all just in a language that I already sort of speak lyrically." She added that she's stoked to have Mastodon feed her gem into "their massive machine."

Feist's next Mastodon cover? How about covering herself with face tattoo like a certain Mastodon guitarist did.
