Not many bands making their U.S. network TV debut can get away with opening the performance with almost a minute of little more than a repetitive guitar riff, but that's exactly how Refused started things off Wednesday night when they hit the stage of 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.'

After the extended intro, the Swedish hardcore revolutionaries launched into a fierce and ferocious version of 'New Noise' from their landmark 1998 album, 'The Shape of Punk to Come,' and for five quick minutes all was right with the world. As a web-only bonus, they returned with an equally high-octane run-through of the disc's title track. Watch both below.

Refused recently reunited for their first shows since 1998 and were scheduled to play an outdoor concert on Wednesday on the New York City waterfront in Brooklyn, but some wild local storms forced its cancellation. Undeterred, the gig was relocated inside a nearby club, where the first 500 fans were let in for free to witness all the sweaty mayhem. Check out a run-down of the night here.
