Rockers React to Beastie Boy Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch’s Death on Twitter
Sad news swept the Internet Friday (May 4) with the death of Beastie Boys rapper Adam "MCA" Yauch at the age of 47. Of course many artists immediately took to Twitter to send their condolences and pay their respects, and below is a sampling of what they had to say. Be sure to keep checking back because we will keep adding to this list -- we expect there to be tons of tweets from artists. MCA was a very popular and much beloved man.
Lollapalooza94 talked to Yauch almost everyday He was full of wisdom & encouragement for a freaked out kid like I was. Thank you MCA. LoveBJ — Billie Joe Armstrong (@BJAofficial) May 4, 2012
1994: Yauch storms the podium at the VMAs, doesn't get thrown off as fast as he thought, and blurts, "Um...and Star Wars was my idea!"

I just wasn't expecting Yauch to go. Famous people die, but rarely is it stunning to suddenly live in a world without him. So sad. — Mike Doughty (@Mike_Doughty_) May 4, 2012
Our hearts are heavy today. Adam Yauch and his work literally inspired our band to record music and more, just be in a band with friends.
