Run the Jewels Receive Bernie Sanders Introduction, Debut New Song at Coachella
Run the Jewels pulled out all of the stops for their performance at Coachella yesterday (April 16).
Before Killer Mike and El-P even took the stage, Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders introduced the hip-hop duo via video. Of course, Killer Mike has stumped for Sanders throughout his entire campaign, including sitting down for lunch together in the rapper’s native Atlanta.
Run the Jewels also brought out a host of collaborators and unveiled a new, still-untitled song that could possibly appear on their forthcoming full-length Run the Jewels 3. Nas joined the group for his own “Made You Look,” while Gary Clark Jr. showed up for the Run the Jewels 2 track “Angel Duster" and DJ Shadow emerged for their joint collaboration “Nobody Speak.”
After leaving it all on the stage in Indio, RtJ still had more in store for fans: They quickly followed their set with a new music video for Run the Jewels 2’s “Love Again" produced by JASH, the studio and comedy collective comprised of Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Reggie Watts. Check out that, plus Sanders' intro, fan-shot clips of Run the Jewels' Coachella performance and audio of their new song (via HipHop-N-More), below:
