Skrillex + Diplo Reveal They Made an ‘Album Worth of Material’ With Arcade Fire
Skrillex and Diplo (a.k.a. EDM stars Sonny Moore and Wesley Pentz) recently teamed up on a surprise collaborative album under their joint Jack Ü moniker, and earlier this week, they appeared on PBS’ Charlie Rose. During the 30-minute interview, the two artists told Rose they recently worked on new music with Arcade Fire and hinted at the possibility of a forthcoming album together.
Diplo recounts meeting up with the Canadian art-rockers and creating what Skrillex calls “an album worth of material.”
“We just played for 20 minutes, just everybody on an instrument,” Diplo says. “I got the files from them and now I edited it down, these loops, in little pieces, and I’m probably going to go back to Montreal with the lead singer Win [Butler] and maybe Sonny and record vocals on it.”
