SXSW 2013 Adds Vampire Weekend, Tegan and Sara + More

A third wave of acts have been announced for South by Southwest 2013, and Vampire Weekend, Tegan and Sara, Black Lips, Local Natives and Frightened Rabbit some of the biggest names added to the list of more than 1,000 bands already headed to Austin in March.

Eagles of Death Metal, the Besnard Lakes, Camera Obscura, the Thermals and Bleached are also among the dozens of bands who have also have joined the lineup for SXSW 2013, which runs from March 12-17. Bands previously confirmed for this year's festival include Major Lazer, Wavves, Thee Oh Sees and Alt-J. Check out the complete list so far here.

"This still isn't everyone," reads a post on the festival's official website. "More and more additions will continue to be added as we get closer to March. Continue to stay connected to learn of all the exciting announcements coming in later this month and leading into the final weeks before SXSW 2013!"

Each spring, hundreds of bands and thousands of industry professionals and music lovers converge in Austin for South by Southwest, which is considered the premiere festival to both check out up-and-coming and established talent and scarf down Texas BBQ while chugging Lone Star beer.
