SXSW 2013

Every spring, thousands of bands, their fans and the music industry players that support them all converge on Austin, Texas for the SXSW festival and conference, one of the largest such gatherings in the world. Last year featured more than 2,000 performers -- from unknown hopefuls and up-and-coming buzz bands to established stars -- spread across 90 venues, and 2013 promises to once again be even bigger and better.

Bonus: Although unrelated, Austin City Limits is a public television music program recorded live each year in Austin which, together with SXSW, makes the Bat City one of the live music capitals of the world.
