English powerhouse Adele launched her career in 2008 with her debut album ’19’ — named after her age at the time of its release. The sheer magnitude of her vocals and her keen ability to write and convey emotion through song quickly earned the soul songstress recognition, plenty of comparisons to fellow British siren Amy Winehouse and Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her breakthrough single, ‘Chasing Pavements.’ That was only the beginning, as Adele’s immense talent continued to make waves with her 2011 sophomore album ’21,’ which became one of the longest-running number one albums for a female vocalist in both the U.K. and the U.S., boasting a string of hits, including ‘Someone Like You’ and ‘Rolling in the Deep.’ ‘21’ earned Adele another six Grammys to add to her mantle, while her theme song for the 2012 James Bond movie ‘Skyfall’ landed her the Oscar for Best Original Song.
