If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Elton John should be feeling pretty darn sincerely flattered today.

They recorded "Two Fingers of Whiskey" directly to wax as part of a documentary which places contemporary artists in old-fashioned recording situations.

"2 Fingers of Whiskey" was recorded by White and John for a new documentary about the earliest days of recording technology.

The BBC pulled out all the stops when they brought together some of today's brightest artists and musical veterans to cover the 1966 Beach Boys classic, 'God Only Knows.'

Sir Elton John may have made some cheesy music in the '80s, but he was pretty awesome in the '70s.
