Interpol frontman Paul Banks has mapped out a lengthy tour in support of his forthcoming solo album, which drops Oct. 23 and is titled simply 'Banks.' The singer-guitarist kicks off the month-long U.S. leg of his trek on Nov. 3 at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas, and then returns to the road next year for a European leg that begins Jan. 20 in Dublin, Ireland.

The gentlemen of Interpol aren't usually known for their happy-go-lucky songs, instead embracing more of the brooding hipsters look. Lead singer Paul Banks has decided to do things a little differently with his new EP, 'Julian Plenti Lives...,' and is offering a free download of the first single 'Summertime Is Coming.'

As 2012's road trip season begins, AT&T has released a new commercial that cleverly advertises the company's 4G network coverage. In a 30-second spot, AT&T drives a couple from the West Coast all the way home to Brooklyn, N.Y. with the help of music from Interpol, John Denver, George Strait, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Ace Frehley.

Three years after Paul Banks introduced his alter ego Julian Plenti to the world, the Interpol frontman has announced plans to resurrect the moniker for a pair of solo projects in 2012 -- starting with the new EP 'Julian Plenti Lives...' on June 12.
