When the four members of U2 first came together in 1976, they were teenagers studying at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, Ireland. But within four years, they would sign to Island Records and release their debut, ‘Boy,’ and within a decade, they would be the biggest band in the world. Singer Paul Hewson (Bono), guitarist David Evans (the Edge), bassist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. were a hugely successful touring band until 1987’s ‘The Joshua Tree’ elevated them into the upper echelons of rock stardom. During their nearly 40 years together, they’ve released 13 albums to largely critical acclaim and massive commercial success while consistently adapting to the evolving musical climate with albums like 1991's 'Achtung Baby,' 2000's 'All That You Can't Leave Behind' and 2009's 'No Line on the Horizon.'
