Remember 'The Jane Pratt Show'? Neither do we. Apparently it was a daytime talk show that lasted a mere five months on the Lifetime network back in 1993. Perhaps its short lifespan was in part due to such ill-advised musical guest choices as Ween, the willfully bizarre duo that was best known at the time for its minor alt-rock radio hit 'Push th' Little Daisies.'
Ween fans who were surprised by the band's breakup earlier this year will likely be totally shocked by this news. According to a report in Glide Magazine, ex-Ween singer Aaron Freeman is currently in a hospital in Belgium where he is undergoing “a transformative procedure" -- and the story suggests that said procedure may be a sex change operation. Wait, what?
The future of Ween is currently up in the air, but the duo's past as an eclectic and uncannily original band is well established. That said, a cameo in the 1994 box-office bomb 'It's Pat' -- based on the quirky 'Saturday Night Live' skit of the same name -- isn't exactly something most bands would place too high on their bios...
Mickey Melchiondo, better known to many as former Ween guitarist Dean Ween, has announced a benefit concert to raise money for a friend and fishing buddy whose Jersey Shore home was completely destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
