The Dandy Warhols have teamed up with Andy Warhol collaborator Joe Dallesandro for a dark, eerie video for their new single “You Are Killing Me.”

Director Mark Helfrich helms the black-and-white, retro-styled visual, which opens on Dallesandro -- who starred in Warhol’s films Flesh, Trash and Heat between 1968 and 1972 -- furiously typing his opus in the midst of an alcohol- and cigarette-induced bender. He eventually throws in the towel, heads to the bar and runs into a band of mildly terrifying furries. Check it out above (via Pitchfork).

Apparently, the twisted narrative is all the vision of Dandy Warhols frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor. Helfrich said this in a press release:

The concept for the video came out of Courtney's desire to have a film featuring not only Joe Dallesandro, but furries as well. I thought Joe had the perfect look for a Film Noir setting. So I came up with a trippy treatment and everybody signed off on it.

The day before shooting I got a message that Zia [McCabe, keyboardist] was flying to Los Angeles because she wanted to be the Bunny! So Zia's the Bunny. I was thrilled to work with the iconic Joe Dallasandro. He hasn't acted much in the past couple of decades, but he wanted to do this project because he digs the Dandy Warhols. It was an honor to direct him.

“You Are Killing Me” is the lead single from the Dandy Warhols’ upcoming full-length Distortland. The album will arrive in full this Friday, April 8.
