This Queens of the Stone Age + Adele Mash-Up Reinvents ‘No One Knows’ as a ‘James Bond’ Theme
You probably wouldn’t ordinarily peg Queens of the Stone Age as a contender for penning the next James Bond theme, but after listening to one intrepid DJ’s mash-up of the Josh Homme-led rockers and Adele’s own Bond song, “Skyfall,” you might, like us, be persuaded to reconsider.
DJ Poulpi has combined QOTSA’s Songs for the Deaf hit, “No One Knows,” with “Skyfall,” Adele’s song for the 2012 James Bond flick of the same name. The YouTuber isolates Homme’s vocals and sets them to the English powerhouse’s sweeping arrangements for a complete reimagining of both songs. Take a listen in the video above.
Queens of the Stone Age are currently on a temporary hiatus (save a one-off surprise gig) following their 2013 full-length, …Like Clockwork. However, Homme will return on Oct. 2 with Zipper Down, his first Eagles of Death Metal -- the QOTSA leader’s side project with Jesse Hughes -- record in seven years. Ahead of the LP’s arrival, the duo has shared three of the upcoming album's tracks: “Complexity,” “Got a Woman” and “Silverlake.”
