Trance-y electronic duo Touché are made up of high school friends Alex Lilly and Bram Inscore, whose shared fondness for the creative process mixes with their long history to help them build spacey, '80s-Madonna- and Deerhoof-inspired tracks of joy.

The two were reunited years after their academic run when they landed in similar industrial and social circles around the Los Angeles area. Bram was bassing it up around town with Beck, Thurston Moore and Sebastien Tellier while dabbling with a little project called Twin Shadow on the side; and Alex was contributing keys and back-up vocals to The Bird and the Bee, Ry Cooder and Nick Lowe. They had never attempted crafting songs together, and what came out of the collaboration is their aptly titled debut album, 'It's Fate,' due in stores early next year.

Diffuser.fm caught up with Lilly to find out what this single is all about, and we're pretty glad we did. "'I'm a Man Not a Machine' is a rebel call for all humans who feel inadequate when measured up against new technologies, like robots!" she explained. It's a sentiment veteran record producers and assembly line workers are liable to share.
