Tyson Stevens, the 29-year-old founder and frontman of defunct Arizona-based post-hardcore outfit Scary Kids Scaring Kids and singer for Coma Prevail, has died.

According to reports, Stevens was found dead in the morning by his girlfriend in Tucson and presumably died in his sleep. The vocalist had celebrated his birthday just last month.

A statement released by Coma Prevail on Facebook confirmed the news:

 

Stevens formed the synth-tinged Scary Kids Scaring Kids in 2002 and the band released two albums -- 2005's 'The City Sleeps In Flames' and 2007's self-titled record -- and signed to RCA Records before breaking up in 2009. Coma Prevail -- a melodic hardcore group also featuring former the Bled guitarist Jeremy Ray Talley -- assembled and recorded a three-song demo last year.
