Portland-based psych-rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra have released a new video for ‘From the Sun’ with help from filmmaker Rick Alverson (who co-wrote and directed 2012's 'The Comedy'), and some might find its content a bit disturbing. The clip’s dark, graphic scenes – which feature a man being almost savagely degraded by a group of art students – are in stark contrast to the tune’s upbeat vibe. Check it out above.

‘From the Sun’ is the opening track on the band’s latest studio release, ‘II,’ which dropped back in February via Jagjaguwar.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra are gearing up to tour North America and Europe in the summer and fall, and the trek involves a number of festival appearances, including Sled Island, Lollapalooza, Pukkelpop and MusicFestNW. Visit their official site for the full itinerary.
